The reality is that many US cities with revitalized downtowns much further along than Winnipeg's, have benefited from TIF for decades, while the city Winnipeg is still tinkering with it. It is time to get serious, as there is an incredible amount of sites around downtown which need to be developed.

The amount of office space available downtown is scary, and I see new space available for lease. It boggles the mind why building owners do not convert to residential.

Yup. Everyday I also see my buddies on the side of every other road watching for overweight trucks.

I see the Motor Carrier enforcement trucks all of the time. I see them stop large trucks all of the time.

It looks like construction of the Great-West Life daycare is starting soon. Based on the sign, it appears the existing red house will remain with new buildings connected on both sides. By Prairie Architects.

Don't even know what this is supposed to mean, is Buddy your supplier? Are you and your buddies hanging out at the side of roads in shall we say an altered state?

I like that old house on Balmoral and Granite Way.

Biked past it many many times.

Would miss it if it were gone.

Towne and Country style -- house and Investors Group building in the distance.

That means very little. If, on the other hand, the company was buying the Radisson Winnipeg from Canad, that could be exciting news.

Funny the other poster understood. Guess he also gets out of his house and drives around and see the world in real time. Not google earth like some

Point is I drive the entire province. I know personally where the scales are. I see many daily. And if you could understand the buddy part you would know what and who he is. Funny every other person who drives the highways knows.

The stars are aligning, Urban.

Whatever we think of in our mind, we send out the vibes for something.

I am starting to feel that way. Perhaps it is due in part to the numerous emails I send the major players, lol.

RE: Winnipeg Construction IX and/or Winnipeg Construction VIIII

I too, love the enthusiasm. But why would the former be the "Official" thread? The latter was first and I thought we would run with that. I adore the title. (Facetiousness) Cyro?

I believe that the person that started the IX thread had asked first.

I find the press release a little vague...anyone have any idea what MCCC is aiming to do with their complex? How much money do they have for this project?

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that they don't know the answer to those questions which is why they made the press release so vague.

I can't imagine that there isn't more of a vision beyond merely hiring an architect to tell them what they should do with their complex.
