New Dieppe school at 1600 Dieppe Blvd:

Nowhere as bad as the new MHS, but the location (next door to another golf course) means that the majority of students will have to be bussed in. Would've been more central and convenient for lots of families to build it on Pascal just west or northwest of the Aquatic Centre (though I realize that land would likely have been expensive to acquire).

Considering bussing costs can be in excess of $1k/year/student the extra cost would have likely been worth it.

There thoughts on this must of been
1.The extra cost possibly attached to an already heavy populated area.
2.The Fact that most people who are going to Amirault, and Carefour are already being bused in.
3.The fact that Dieppe has plans to expand both Residential, and commercial within the area in the next 10-12 years.

This was my thoughts on it.

I was a little confused as to the actual location of the new school, so I took a drive over to the area to find out.

It is not at 1600 Dieppe Blvd (across from the Fox Creek Golf Course pro shop). It's located on that little stubby extension of Dieppe Blvd to the south of the new Dieppe fire hall. You can get a feeling for the location from this photo from the announcement ceremony.

The location is here:

In other words, it's more like the francophone version of Moncton High School than you thought!

I imagine they will extend Dieppe Blvd all the way through to LeBlanc Road as part of this project.........

Former Caisse Populaire on Amirault

Anybody's aware of what the project is at the former Caisse Populaire on Amirault?
There is a construction fence around the property and a construction trailer from Foulem Construction is on site since a couple of weeks....

Not as bad, but certainly not inspiring. Imagine had they thought of locating it closer to the ''uptown'' area - close to some businesses... What a concept for urbanisation!

No the Caisse no longer owns the building. The dentists next door have bought and are renovating to move in the building.

St. Louis Bar & Grill opened today and caught on fire tonight. Several fire trucks were dispatched. Apparently it was a gas fire in the kitchen which spread into a wall. It is now closed.

That's really unfortunate!! Insurance will cover it I'm sure.

Champlain Place Expansion Not to be...

Was it not in 2009 that someone had shared this photo of the potential expansion to CF Champlain [/URL]

It sort sucks that it was not to be but at the same time it might have been a bad move on Cadillac Fairview as a company if they would have gone full on renovations/expansion.back then, and caused them more problems today.

I'm pretty sure that was a "fantasy" photo posted by one of the enthusiasts on our site. It was never official canon.

Every so often one of us will come up with "what if" plans. This was one of those.........

Lets say Aeropostale does close it's doors at CF Champlain if Jump+ where to move locations, and possibly PSEUDIO as well that would make a nice large empty store if they where to be combined Possibly get Eddie Bauer to move to another location as well I think it would be perfect for a larger store.

Two??? Do you mean one pre-security and one post-security?
