I actually purchased a unit in Compass, well put down the deposit, anything can happy really.

I did tour Beacon when it was completed late last spring. I was very impressed with the quality. The views are outstanding on the north side of the building, you literally look right up Grouse, Seymour, and Fromme mountain. Seymour off to the east. On the South side, the views of a less than attractive neighbourhood really detract from the enjoyment, from atop looking down, it really looks like a ghetto. This neighbourhood is years off from being a really nice place, but the right elements are coming into play. Future developments are planned, but again, anything can happen.

I went to refer a friend recently, and all the 1beds and 1+dens are now sold. I purchased back in November and they raised the prices 5% 3 times since. Seems a bit crazy.

One thing worth noting, the highway is actually not very loud until you go up to the high floors. The triple glazed windows do work, perhaps a little too well, you can hear a pin drop in the units. I like doors and windows open, so hopefully my 9th floor unit won't be too bad. I will literally be looking right up Lynn Creek and can't see my view ever being obstructed which is kind of cool.

I will try and post any updates and see if I can find the pictures I took when I toured Beacon.

Please excuse some of the photos, the pics were for personal memories, I actually had a deposit on this unit, but I didn't close, do I sure wish it went through, negotiated $330K tax in! This unit could pull $400K today easily. Resale units fly with multiple bids <hits hand to head>

Sliding doors would be so much better rather than those double doors.

Pretty tame. With the windows and doors closed, you can't hear a thing, just the slight hum of the A/C. Triple glazed windows are a bit extreme, if I could have saved money I would have been fine with double glazed. The Fairmont hotel has double glazed windows and that's a high end building.

With the doors and windows open, it's more quiet than down-town. You don't have horns honking, accelerating cars, noisy brakes, not many sirens. It's a 70km/hr route, I hear more noise on Mountain highway to be honest. I thought it would be brutal, I was rather surprised.

When you go higher up, like the 20th floor the noise becomes more pronounced. These pictures are from the 7th floor.
