^^the Clockbeast picture in your avi, O-tacular, is the most terrifying picture of it that exists.

Look at its glowing clock-face cyclops eye as it plots to eviscerate the poor Reno Depot in its wake. The Reno Depot is ugly as sin much like the parking lot it belongs to, but neither deserve to suffer such a horrible fate at the hands of the Clockzilla.

Harrij you are right that the glowing eye surveilling the Reno Depot is its most terrifying picture. I never got to see it up close when I visited last fall but saw it looming over Laval from l'auratoire st. Joseph. I did however see its heinous offspring in St. Leonard one evening, evil eye aglow, and it was terrifying.



Couldn't find a night time shot but this is it. The eye looked just like its Laval parent's.

Maybe they can use it to dissuade the city or developers from making similarly awful design choices in the future.

Are you asking what purpose slope roofs have? Slope roofs are more durable in a sense that they get rid of water more effectively. With a flat roof, the drainage may not be effective and it should be maintained frequently. You always want to make sure that your water proof membranes are still good. If the drains are not working and/or you have sitting water, that can lead to more moisture problems: mold growth, rotting of the roof, etc.

I think one of the concerns with all of those gables is that you would get water building up behind ice and snow that dams up between them. On a regular roof, or with fewer gables, this would be less of a concern.

In terms of utterly barren and depressing mallscapes nothing beats the Northhill mall Sears in Calgary.

It's funny because as I was searching for images of Sears it came up with this awesome list of bathroom stall graffiti which actually jogged my memory of the bathroom stall graffiti that was inside the 3rd floor bathroom in the Sears I worked at 8 years ago. Unfortunately I have no pictures of it but I found some awesome ones to post none the less!

I'm actually shocked there isn't a Sears connected to the Residences Soleil in Laval. Or at least one in place of the Reno Depot.
