Are you the developer? Because otherwise this comment is beyond comprehension.

Yeah that's a weird comment. That building is as basic as it gets. The only good thing is that it will barely be noticeable.

I think the church next door is wanting to redevelop?

The former Empire Theatres project has a new (?) website and revised (boring) design.
Looks like they're proposed a level above the old art deco Coronet Theatre?

If it were more like 100,000 sq ft instead of 39,500 sq ft, it could appeal to Simons.

Existing, from Granville St. Twitter:

Previous design, with vertical glass folds:
Wow, that sucks...

Also see they went from 3 vertical signs (one of which was very large and funky looking, perfect for the historical atmosphere of Granville Street) to two boring smaller vertical signs straight out of a big box store.

It looks like almost every building in my neighbourhood here in Mexico City. Tall and thin.

The story itself is a pretty dumbed-down version with the facts like number of floors so-so right.

Something i have been wondering for awhile now, who owns the building at 888 Burrard (Spence diamonds and YYoga etc.) and what are the chances of it being redeveloped in conjunction with possible redevelopment of the low density residential component of 800 Burrard above the joeys. They have to be some of the most under built sites on Burrard and with developers recently buying up small older condo buildings it seems like a great opportunity, dare i say any 'viewcones' crossing the site? the site is smack in the middle of Klaus' pic in between the Scotia theatre and the bronze 80's office building

pic from Klaus' post on the patina thread http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showpost.php?p=6933542&postcount=445

Along with the Marc Building at 595 Hornby, a seriously ugly piece of dismal architecture.

That whole block is badly under-utilized, but there are lots of viewcones over it. I am still sure that one day that whole block will see some serious development, as it is way too central to be left like it currently is.

Soon most of empty lots in Downtown will be built and we will begin to see more and bigger demolitions taking place with Downtown developments.

That turned out great. The Banff restoration, too. Thanks for the photos.

I hated it when I saw it in renders, but the finished product looks excellent.

Yeah, I like it, it makes a great fit for that block. It will also add yet more vibrancy to that neighbourhood, especially when combined with the old Pappas furniture building's top to bottom renovation that is currently ongoing. Suddenly there are going to be a lot of students in the Victory Square area.
