Amsterdam, NY:

From 2007:

Same place from 2014:

Amsterdam is about 36 miles west of Albany. It had a population of about 35,000 back in 1930, but not much more than half of that now.

The tree that grew accidentally amidst construction cycles. . .

Oh, hi, just me hanging out on the construction fence for that Ritz-Carlton mega-complex across the street. . .

Still growing! I need new shoes please. . .

Needing some company, this is boring. . .

Oh, hi grass, howyoudoin'. . .

I just had no one to tell me that I'd be shade for a head call some day. . .

I lasted until December 2015, my home now a wider sidewalk. . .

Great thread idea Ex-Ith!

City Water Tank in deserted area of city.

Searching the debris under a tree next to the Water Tank (noticed the pink cart to carry away any goodies).

Money exchanging hands (?).

^ LSyd, you rascal, that is so cool.

@ sirrob - kind of, but on the other side of the city. And there are hundreds of blocks in Baltimore that would fit the Hamsterdam mode.
