Philippe Starck is doing the interiors thus the Yoo brand name but SRSSA designed the tower as well as 1138 Peachtree, and the previous Mandarin Hotel proposal. In fact that would be my guess that this is the next project by Trillist / Leventhal.

Correction: Corcoran Ota designed the Yoo tower.

Edit:Nevermind. I was right the first time. Corcoran was just the project architect.

Not a fan of the current street valet on Juniper and definitely not a fan of expanding it.

Really curious about the 13th st proposal! Wonder if they'd develop toward the southern end of the parcel to try and provide a view of the park? Or if there will be any retail. Thousands of apartments are going up between 10th and 14th with what seems like very little retail. Guess we'll know soon enough!

The area between Juniper and the park is primarily zoned residential. Some retail is allowed but the regulations are very restrictive.

I'm excited for an expanded Joes on Juniper.

Also there is some fencing on Eviva site and a dumpster and port-o-potties

*checks date*

There has been/was a dumpster in the corner of the lot along 6th near Juniper, under a tree, for a while. I can't remember if there was a port-o-potty there as well but I kind of remember if being there. Is this a different / new dumpster?

This is different then that. I'll grab a picture... Not sure what else it could be for. They have added some fencing as well blocking the pet pooping area.

I'm sure that's there for the QuikTrip across the street, they had the same setup when they were adding the retail to the garage.

smArTaLlone posted glossy new renderings for Peachtree and 17th street, but no one really looks in the Project/Construction thread in the Atlanta forum much so I'll post it here.

Peachtree and 17th

Looks really nice. Finally Atlanta is getting a slender, tall tower. About 45 stories, but I think the tower will probably be somewhere around 470-500 feet because some floors are larger than 10 feet. The street level looks pretty good...higher quality than a lot of the stuff around Midtown. Great development overall for the area.

Beautiful building(s)! Question - if that's Peachtree and 17th, and it's not Dewberry's land, where's it going? There's only a very small plot of land to build on beside Midtown Plaza (after they demolish that house/office and another small building).

Other side of the street (northeast corner)-- site of several small office buildings currently--

it's mildly annoying that active buildings are getting torn down for a new building where across the street a vacant plot of land owned by dontberry sits unused, but we're used to these things by now right?

We all know he's waiting until Midtown is at near full build out and his lots are 20-30 million per acre. At least another 10-20 years sadly...

The DAR house in Midtown at 15th & Piedmont met its end today. Heavy equipment took down what was left. After a partial collapse while under renovation in 2014 all work stopped and the lot has sat idle ever since. Sad to see another missed opportunity for adaptive reuse in Atlanta.

Agreed in general-- but in this case these buildings are no great loss historically or architecturally and the proposed structure is a much more intense (and better) use of the site(s).
