Seriously, you'd think they'd wash the glass awning prior to opening the store. SMH

PC mall's completion has helped rejuvenate the retail section on this side of Granville Street with the opening of Indigo and Zumiez. Still waiting to see what will eventually happen to Empire's previous theatre building at Granville 7.

No, it was Quicksilver. It's been empty for about 3 years.

Van Cleef & Arpels to open large store on Alberni. Where the plaza is being filled in, north side of 1000 block.

As per BIV :

Faaaantastic!! (now if they'd only make the streetscape worthy of such high-end retail) .....

Wonder what that will mean to the just newly opened Van Cleef & Arpels concession at Birks downtown?

I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain I overheard someone say the theaters might end up being built in Park Royal North.

That was what went through my mind, too. Hope whatever goes in there is "Fifth Avenue," as it were.

Turns out VC&A will take a bit more than half of the 8,000 sq ft two-level Alberni Street building. Another Richmont brand will occupy the other side of the same building.

The Birks shop-in-store isn't a concession, despite VC&A's CEO issuing a statement about the store opening in January. Birks owns and operates the Granville Street-fronting VC&A.

Interesting given that theatres are pretty tall these days and the upland residences would be sensitive to view blockage.

Yeah, it makes no sense to what they announced was going into the North side in that recent article and everything has mentioned a spot in the South on a new third level.

The Park Royal website confirms the fitness center in the North Mall is Steve Nash.

Guess that pretty much spells the end of the indoor portion of Park Royal North in the near-term. Those retailer must be hurting given all the major news draws on the south side.

Looks like the Tom Lee Music building on Granville Street just sold, looks like they got a good amount for the building. I wonder if they'll be moving or leasing back the space?
