Just came across some pictures of the Red Winds new arena - it looks so much smaller than Edmonton's
If you look at the design, the concourses are outside of the main "dome" of the stadium which makes it look smaller, I think seating is larger in the new Detroit arena by about 1500 seats
Detroit is such a dump. I wouldn't dare venture into that neighbourhood to go to a game. You wouldn't come out alive!!!
That's what I was thinking but I didn't want to say anything... Good God that looks horrendous. And you know that the new developments like the massive sports stadiums are only there because there were probably entire blocks full of vacant lots or derelict buildings.

Yet even with the huge financial issues plaguing Detroit the last few decades and the increased crime rate - the one picture shows a nice domed stadium, a really nice ballpark and a under-construction modern arena.

Well of course, it's the USA... nothing will stop public dollars from being spent on privately operated pro sports venues!

Even with all the rot and decay, Detroit has a better stock of grand old buildings than practically any city in Canada. Even if they end up losing 90% of it/restore the other 10%, they'd be left with more than cities like Edmonton or Moncton.
I bet it has a lot more to offer/things of interest than cities like Phoenix, Denver, or Tampa.

Detroit has one of the best stocks of deco towers and structures in N/A. I'd hate to see anymore lost.

Not sure why you had to trash Edmonton, Moncton, Phoenix, Denver, & Tampa to defend Detroit.
I remember an American comedian came to Edmonton and his opening line was "so Edmonton huh what a shit pit...you guys are one bad oil deal away from Detroit"

T-mobile arena in vegas or what i like to call it "meh" (seriously I'm not impressed at all especially for vegas)
