For anyone who wants to make their own 3D 360 degree interactive DTLA skyline, download google earth and everything you need is built in. It's similar to what you've made mr.reed but it's 3D and interactive. Anyone can make it, and if you want you can make it pretty damn nice.

Download google earth and open.
Go to add.
Add polygon.
Draw the shape on the ground.
Enter the height of the building (meters is standard)
Select "relative to ground".
"Extend sides to ground".
Behold, vague relative massing of whatever DTLA projects you want, as detailed as you are willing to go, with overlaid with 3D satellite imagery of the skyline. Scroll around, even view it in street view (but street view is buggy).

Im sure you guys could make the massing more accurate than me, I just used boxes and relative heights because I'm lazy.

Do y'all think the retail at the new Olympic buildings will only fill up once all the buildings are occupied?

That space has been under construction for many months now, they have put up windows and should be completing. Last I heard, they were targeting a June/July opening but could be delayed by permitting issues.

Yuck. I'll never understand why LA is adverse to simple and classy.

Generally agree, but I don't have a problem with this design. Looks fine to me.

My only problem with that design is that it's far more hardscape than greenscape, and the greenscape that is there isn't really usable. It's raised planters separated from grade, so not walkable at all. If this were a plaza, then this design is pretty good. But this is a park, not a plaza, and parks have usable green space.

Brigham reported a "late 2016" opening.

Well LA is a very artistic city where people can try new ideas. Often times those new ideas suck though.

So LA is going to host the 2018 NBA All Star game. Which is just perfect.

^^^ That's excellent news!! Metropolis, LA Central & the Shenzen should all be humming along around that time also!

Garçons de Cafe, a french wine bar/ retail store is now open in the Spring Arcade with Downtown Donuts & Clayton Public House next door opening really soon!

I can only imagine that they'll fill up when the surrounding businesses are successful which is happening already. I fully expect them to fill up sooner. Or later.

With the exception of the Moss proposal, you can’t go wrong with any of them. I still think the Grand Park is a disappointment and an over-cemented confusing mess.

That's a year after it hosts the NHL ASG. Not bad.
