Yeah the BMO building (it'll always be FCC to me though) is one of my favorites from the 70s/80s boom. I think it's held up quite well over the years, especially compared to its contemporaries. It and the Nexen building are somewhat underrated in this town.

The way they slapped on that BMO logo is atrocious however. It was much more elegant with the old Bank of Montreal logo.

^Totally agree about the logo. It's always FCC to me as well.
I cry a little everyday that this one never got built - it was so close.

While I was up in the tower, I heard Torontonians say that Calgary has a better skyline than what they have...

That's just downright silly though. Toronto's skyline is on another level.

For me Toronto has a crazy skyline but I don't like how it can't be seen properly from the lake. The way it's oriented along Yonge Street makes it hard to see all at once. Even from the CN tower. If they're from Toronto I'm guessing the Bow would have also contributed to this comment.

True, but only if you look at it from the right angle.

Agreed. Every city has views of the downtown that are unflattering. As taller towers are being built in the Bloor-Yorkville area, Toronto's skyline will become more impressive.

Brookfield would be dramatic at 1000+ feet. Perhaps one day, the ridiculous twin mentality will cease to exist.

Also worth noting is that there will be at least three retail CRUs on the 7th Ave elevation that are intended to be restaurants, so some of the lost retail will be replaced (with higher priced restaurant options most likely).

It sure looks like atrium, but I had spoken to them quite a bit earlier about the full blown out atrium that will be able to host events, and they said not till phase two.

It's an atrium alright. The final framing is being installed on the north end this week, so you can get an idea of the finished profile. It won't be as spacious as shown in the design until phase two is completed, but it will still be an elegant space.
