Expect to see another surface parking lot downtown on 104 Street north of 99ave between Dunedin House (Macs) and that old white house.

DO denied the application, DECL opposed it along with multiple residents, appeal ALLOWED at SDAB yesterday.

Very unfortunate.

Screened on the street I hope? Paved and landscaped?

Landscaped, lit, paved, but that is irrelevant in our opinion for this case.

Unhappy

^ So there used to be a building in that empty lot back in 2007? Why was it torn down? It's such a shame to see our urban fabric defiled by parking lots.

What was the reason that the sdab approved it? Does the owner/applicant have the right to operate a parking lot? What is the variance? I guess the big question is if the owner has the right of the use, is the variance justified?

A one hundred year old building in Edmonton’s warehouse district, the Mercer Warehouse is home to many of the city’s brightest minds and builders. Behind our walls you’ll find the city’s finest coffee and cocktails, converse with inspiring creators, and get lost in the maze of great people and organizations.

There’s always something happening here, and a special charm that only a hundred years and a handful of ghost tales can create.

Good shots as usual. I was looking at similar positions when I was at a meeting a CWB last week. Also noticed some interesting angles of the skyline from the Overpasses on Yellowhead and Henday.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but having that historic old building burn down where the Kelly-Ramsey is going up was truly a blessing in disguise. It's looking really good so far, especially the preserved/restored facade.

Greyhound's next stop: A new Edmonton depot

Bill Mah Published on: March 14, 2016 | Last Updated: March 14, 2016 5:38 PM MDT

Greyhound is preparing to pack up and move a few blocks north next to the Via Rail station, the bus company said Monday.

The lease at the current Greyhound depot, at 10324 103 St., expires in May, but the company will vacate the site before then.

“Greyhound plans to move into the Edmonton Via Rail train station before our current lease expires,” spokeswoman Lanesha Gipson said in an email.

“At this time, we do not have a specific move-in date. However, we are preparing to relocate our operations by the deadline.”

The company could not provide any further information about the new station because it’s still finalizing the details, Gipson said...

Northlands site could one day be home to retail and residential space
By Caley Ramsay Web Producer Global News
Updated: March 14, 2016 5:37 pm

EDMONTON — Northlands provided new conceptual designs Monday of what the site could look like when the Edmonton Oilers move out at the end of the hockey season.

Residential and commercial spaces are laid out in the new proposal, which will be presented to city council Tuesday. The new pictures also showcase the possibility for two new hotels – one near the Ice Coliseum that could serve those attending hockey tournaments, and another near the Edmonton Expo Centre that could serve the convention industry....
