FMC is HUGE...and that new Tower proposed @ SYards dwarfed FMC.

If built, it is truly going to be mind blowing.

FMC Tower on Track to Open Summer 2016

Just this Monday we posted some impressive photos taken by Tectonic of the FMC Tower's construction progress, noting that it was scheduled to be complete in 2017. But new reports, including an Instagram video post from developer Brandywine Realty Trust itself, shows that construction will be complete this summer.

When all is said and done, the Pelli Clarke Pelli-designed tower will feature 49 stories of office space, retail, and residential units. The 19 upper stories of the building will consist of AKA residences, ranging from hotel rooms to studios, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments, and penthouses designed by architect Piero Lissoni.

FMC Tower's big claim to fame is that it will be the first vertical neighborhood in Philadelphia. Tenants will have access to a club level 400 feet above ground that will include a pool, green space with fire pits, a movie theater, a 3D golf simulator, and an indoor-outdoor restaurant.

I went to Bishop Eustace for highschool. Voorhees public school before that.

I know they got 3 months behind schedule because of the transfer floor and all, so it sounds like they've stepped up the pace. Don't let work quality slip. (am reminded of this 50 or so -storey in China which is said to have been completed in only 19 days.)

I would say July or August is certainly possible.

I can see how the office section might be completed this summer but not the apartments. They are not even half way in the floor count.

Can anyone explain why the switch from steel columns to poured concrete? The slab ends up as concrete in either case, and in this build the change over seemed to take forever.

Considering that just about all tall condos/apartments are built out of poured concrete there must be some basic reason.
