the haves and the have nots? isn't the mission to unify the area and put an end to the divisions?
the half south of penn gets colored orange and the half north of penn gets no color - what's up with that?

and why is the city paying a design firm in new york city to plan a business district in pittsburgh?
don't we have urban planners here who are qualified for this type of work and who would appreciate the business?

how about treating beatty street as an important neighborhood street?

True, but when it was announced that they were not relocating anywhere, it was noted that financially, it's been a little rough recently for them.

Last we knew, the project was supposed to break ground on the upper residential portion sometime in 2016. Just looking at the site, it appears they still have a good chunk of the infrastructure work still to go.

I'd have no problem with Moe's staying as one of the tenants in a 3-story building.

It would be pretty sad if Moe's is replaced by a 2-story building. Hopefully it's a 3-story... which would be in line with most of the other historic buildings surrounding the Square.

Perhaps 1st floor - Dollar Tree, 2nd floor Dollar General, 3rd floor Family Dollar. Add a 4th floor for the world HQ of Dollar Bank.

It pretty much displays how awful the North Shore is in comparison though. Yeah, of course University City is kind of an extension of Center City with multiple major established institutions there, so it's a lot easier for Philadelphia to propose this vs. Pittsburgh being able to propose something this major on the North Shore... and the fact that Philly is like a million times bigger then Pittsburgh. And as University City has become more integrated with Center City, it has already eclipsed Oakland... with Cira Centre and Evo both at over 400' and the halfway complete FMC Tower which is taller than BNY Mellon.

It would be great if a credible developer could at least propose something that is significant in height on the North Shore. Maybe the Wash Monument scaffolding
