Really? wow. I thought nothing would ever happen with that bldg. because of their floor problem. What's the plan for the building?
The upward climb of adding more and more residents into the downtown is nothing but positive. It's nice to know that considerable life will be coming to that very charming building soon.
Does anyone know if anything is planned for those sites where they just demolished the MB Housing between Mayfair and River? Those are a some big lots.

This project is shrouded in mystery...why did they demolish given that the homes weren't all that old? (Looked like 70s era construction... not new, but not ancient either by central Winnipeg standards) What's in store as a replacement?
I am waiting on an answer. I hope it is similar to Greenheart on Sherbrook.
In regards to social housing, a cooperative approach is needed. To simply let people live in such housing with no responsibility is not the correct way to meet housing needs. Every tenant should be responsible for some aspect of caring for the grounds and building. Despite not owning a unit, if I were given a roof over my head and I had some type of disability, or not, I would play any part in such an arrangement. No more free rides.
Perhaps TV could chime in on the Qualico Sports Centre: how accurate are the renderings, and what materials are going to used for the exterior? Sports Manitoba will be updating its website soon with progress photos. Fibre cement? Spandrel panels?

I asked about this a month or two ago. The houses are the Macdonald Youth Services buildings. They've moved to Portage but somebody said they're building a new building at the old Mayfair location.
Oh okay, thanks. IMO CFS, or whomever, just be building their own residences to house the youth in their care. They've at least gotten them out of hotels. But are still in temporary housing, not even group homes for most of them. Build some type of apartments or something. Wouldn't that seem to be most logical and cheapest in the long run. Cause they're paying these houses tons of cash to support the kids.
I have a friend who used to work for MYS. And he made a killing on zero education. It was insane.
So many facets of life involve licenses, yet women can just keep shooting out kids with no regard for their welfare. Let's teach women not to have children unless you can care for them.
Believe it or not women can't reproduce asexually.
