Not mandatory-- but making them so would hardly be 'unconstitutional'-- The city requires all sorts of off-site and ROW improvements, including streetscape and traffic improvements-- if they wanted to do it, power line improvements could probably be added. Ga power owns all the lines and has a long franchise agreement with the city. Perhaps the COA should think about renegotiating the agreement when the time comes--

These two groups need to have consistent interaction in order to foster the collaboration that we’re looking for.

The campus will include a "technology center" where engineering services and product testing will be done. Gensler is the architect of the project, which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018

Nothing about this site is urban - you still have to shuttle across 400 to get to a suburban MARTA stop.

Exactly. Good luck navigating Abernathy Rd traffic as well. Lip service to transit at best. Extremely disappointing.

..and the international style architecture can come back, it looks great, but the 60s style urban planning should definitely not come back.

Terminus - I may be wrong on this, however as someone who work in the field of Development, this is something I've seen mandated before in the code. That is especially true in Florida, but maybe its a specific limitation to Georgia?

I'm not saying its right or wrong, just saying I've seen it before in Georgia.

Anyone can pay Ga Power an outrageous sum to bury power lines-- Something like $100/ft plus underground connections for all users of the buried lines. In the meantime our streets suffer from an ugly blight and our power supply is less dependable--

No thanks-- I'll stick to zoning-- but can you sight the section and subsection of the law of which you speak?

Rezoning planning permit was filed for this project. Rezoning due to some technicality even though it is rezoning from the same zoning it was prior.

2748 Alpine Rd. [right off Piedmont Rd. across from Mercedes] is rezoning from R-4 to MR-3. Scope code is [REZONING FOR MIXED USE PURPOSES]

832 Berne St. SE in Glenwood area behind the high school there is rezoning a couple properties from R-5, I-1, I-2, Beltline to MRC-3, so likely a multi-use development of some kind.

^ that's a place i never thought i'd see a highrise pop up, but why not! i assume this is right in the same area as that 'custom signs today' building with the glass facade. (edit) wait, are your first and second sentence referring to the same project?

First and second sentences are not related. The pictured development is along Peachtree in Buckhead, I believe due east of Trader Joe's.
