Tower 1: 900-1200 feet
Tower 2: 650-750 feet
Tower 3: 450-550 feet
Tower 4: 350-450 feet
Tower 5: 350-450 feet
Tower 6: 300-400 feet
Tower 7: 300-400 feet
Tower 8: 300-400 feet
Love you, Summers, but I don't see how you get to that conclusion based on a statement that later work calls for a mixed use tower that could be up to 950'

Just because the rendering shows a tower much taller than 950 feet. Would be disappointing if it was 950 feet which is definitely hilarious because any city would be stoked as hell to be potentially getting a 900 footer.

In this view, it is covered with some large structure, but I don't see such a structure in the master plan.

Yep, I noticed that too. Maybe Drexel is planning a tower here separate from the "Schuylkill Yards," which would be cool.

Does anyone know if the public announcements from Drexel and Brandywine were made yet? Where and what time?

They're tight for undergraduate living since they're trying to boost attendance so much. Perhaps this is a residential response to the first tower (starting early 2018) at 31st and JFK said to contain academic facilities.

I notice something that I think separates the actual plan from surrounding rendering "fluff." On the site plan, there is a clear dotted-line delineating the Schuylkill Yards development area. It does NOT include the Cira II site, the Firestone site, and the like. There are basically four major patches in the SY plan: (1) The block b/w the IRS building and the highline (b/w Market and Chestnut), (2) the Bulletin site and parking lot, (3) the rest of that long block between the Bulletin/highline and the Food Fair building (large building where the vestigial tail of JFK Blvd curves, and (4) the long lot between the Cira II site and 32nd street, curving along the SEPTA rail yard.

also, check Facebook. Drexel posted the article there. I'm sure that has a time stamp.

I heard that Firestone is about to leave that spot (later this year). My understanding that the site is set to be used for a new academic building (for business school?)

A student union building, I believe.

There was a long running plan to turn the Armory into an Arena/Convocation center to replace the DAC as the home of the basketball teams. War and the financial downturn put the kibosh on that. I think renewing that plan to renovate it into a smaller, intimate venue for sports, concerts, campus events and perhaps trade shows centered around an expanding on-campus student and general residential populations as well as new businesses this is supposed to bring in would be successful. Intramural and club sporting events that take place in the Armory could be shifted to the DAC.

I guess I'm letting my Blue and Gold tinted glasses cloud my reasoning. The school has made it known that they don't see any benefits.

I've heard some rumblings that the Firestone property is to become a new Student Union building at some point.

Keep the renderings at what's possible/hopeful, keep the official talk to "worst case scenario" because we have no idea the state of the economy in 2025. I think by saying 950 they are covering their butts if by any chance the plan downgrades significantly; expectations will be less crushed.

This rendering shows a tower that isn't 950 feet. It just isn't that short.

Using the known height of Evo, neglecting east-->west perspective changing heights in pics, the tallest tower is roughly 3 Evos. At roughly 400', we can conclusively say that the rendering below shows a ~1200' tower.

You're totally right.. the outline doesn't include Cira II or Firestone lot which is huge and shows that Cira II and another tower on the Firestone lot are eventually in play.

adjective
1. serving to settle or decide a question; decisive; convincing:
conclusive evidence.

A reasonable extrapolation based on the rendering, but nothing conclusive about it. The burden of proof is a little higher for conclusive.
