The foundation issues were, funnily enough, caused by the hole needed for the underground parking.

Had they not needed to empty it all out, then they could've just drilled caissons through the difficult foundations.

I think its a safe bet that SLS stands no chance of being completed before this since it's current a dead site. Now Dranoff says he hopes to be starting work this summer.

Probably right, but it sits on a parking podium with no real excavation anticipated. The W tortoise got a head start, but who knows.

the fact that they likely had to wait for those steel tubes to be fabricated and delivered probably explains a lot about the slow pace over past few weeks. Who knows how long it took to get those made and shipped to the site.

A worker at the site told me they are going down 55 feet. They are removing the last major mound of soil on the NW corner right now. I never understand how the last bit of soil gets removed from these excavations. I always want to pay close attention, but I always forget to do so.
