^Pretty sure the City has located the one person who controls the land, or whatever the deal is.

Hahah. IIRC it was a female, not that it matters. Tried a quick Google search, but couldn't find much.

Keep in mind that the caveat only applies to the portion of the site south of where Market used to run (roughly the southern 1/3 of the site). Anything goes with the rest.
On that note, continuing the Market ave. walkway from city hall to Princess st. should probably happen.

Is the brick and blue part to the left of it a separate building? It looks even worse now haha. The Halter Building is also screaming for some help on that wall, art maybe. There's some cool art along Graham now, I actually think it would make a good candidate to become an art walk, something we don't have right now.

Halter Building is owned by Women's Health Clinic... they've kind of run it into the ground, though. Looks shoddy from the outside, and the original retail units at the base are all out of use now that Guppy Design left.

It irks me to no end that they won't lease out the CRUs... it would liven up the sidewalk and probably put some money into the Clinic's coffers for whatever projects they care to pursue.

All we can hope at this point is that more of these storefronts will become occupied, and buildings renovated as TNS begins taking shape.

You'd think we'd be reaching a critical mass. The population of downtown has increased dramatically in the last few years.

Not in this area.

Needless to say, we need more visionaries in Winnipeg. Decades of stagnation has made so many people bitter it seems; there are still so many building owners who could care less about what their buildings look like.

In terms of Thom Bargen: nothing about that building resembles a coffee shop. It looks more like an H&R Block. A rooftop patio would be great.

Looks okay to me.

Any chance they'll ever get rid of those horrendous traffic light poles on Graham?

I find art murals tacky; a fresh coat of paint would do wonders.

I have fallen in love with a plan to extend Graham through the Bay Building, creating two buildings. Storefronts would be created along this new section, while above, residential conversion would see balconies added. This would be amazing.

That would be me hahaha. The building, at this point, would look better with awnings. Imo, the black sections would look better in red, or some application using wood, or a mixture of wood, some brick, etc; mix it up, create character.
