Can't wait for those Juniper St. improvements. That will really change the feel of the area for the better and will making cycling thru Midtown much easier. Are there any solid details regarding the West Peachtree bike lanes? It would be nice to see the current lanes buffered and separated from traffic.

Anyone have access to ABC and could post the whole article, below? The images reminded me I forgot about 1400 W. Peachtree. Wonder when/if 1400 and AMLI AC will be a go.

I'm pretty sure that posting full articles is against the site rules for copyright reasons.

The company who is developing the apartments near the Braves stadium and developed the Shoe Factory Lofts in Edgewood is planning a 232 unit apartment development adjacent to Atlantic Station. They just closed on $12.7 million in funding from another developer so we may hear more about this soon, though the article is scant on any details about precise location or style of building (midrise vs highrise)

Brilliant, thank you! This article was exactly what I was hoping for. The sheer volume of units coming to Midtown is incredible, although I'm hoping the market turns the corner for condos. By the time I'm ready to buy in Atlanta, it's going to be tough to decide between Midtown or somewhere along the BeltLine. Hoping we see more proposals and developments break ground the next couple years and more streetscaping improvements between Midtown and the surrounding neighborhoods

AMLI Arts Center is already under construction - most of the site work up until now involves relocating underground utilities and shoring up some existing retaining walls that encroach property lines.

880 West Peachtree filed for Land Development Permit and demo permit for the office building currently on site today.

Wow, how that pocket of Midtown has increased in density in short order. Wonder how long the Cheetah will last.

A lot consolidation permit was also filed for Hanover Midtown at 7th and Peachtree across from Seventh Midtown.

The Hanover Project pictured is on the site right next to bulldogs, and I believe permitting has started, am I right on this?

880 West Peachtree doesn't have the greatest or most interesting design, but I do appreciate that, despite having a large parking deck, it is wrapped by two sides of the building and it could potentially be fully blocked by future developments on that block. It's just good to see the days of visible concrete parking decks dwindling.

I just wonder how active the streets of midtown will be in 3-4 years when all of these developments are delivered and people are moved into them.

I also cannot wait for 2021 when the census stats come out particularly for Midtown. I suspect we may finally see a 50k+ ppsm census tract. Midtown's average density will probably be between 35-40k ppsm.

I keep waiting for the Cheetah to sell the development rights, have someone build a huge tower and the Cheetah move into a big three-story penthouse on top.

I keep waiting for someone to grab part of the Varsity parking lots as well. How long can it hold out? They should sell part of it off for a tower, build a new parking deck and redo that old section in back that floats over the parking. I'd love to see a Deco-themed tower that would match the Varsity architecture.

Glad that 880 West Peachtree is moving forward, but I kinda love the building that is being torn down on the lot. It doesn't address the street well, but I love the facade. It is unlike anything else we have in Midtown.

Honestly, they are all beginning to look alike, IMO.

Swanky hotel, condos Proposed in Heart of Buckhead Village.

Renderings have surfaced for a project that could provide the core of Buckhead Village with a dazzling new backdrop. Joshua A. Reeves of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty sends over a vision he’s been working on for a year with Stephen Holland, of Holland Architects, that could consume a triangular block now occupied by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Chuck’s Firearms, The Fish Hawk outfitters and several vacant lots, including the former Buckhead Bottle Bar location.Plans call for at least 200 four-star hotel rooms and 40 "copious premium residences with (a) separate interior elevator atrium," Holland said in an email to Curbed. The kicker, though, could be the three-sided façade, which would form a backdrop for Charlie Loudermilk Park and just might include "an animated marquee style signage band similar to Times Square," officials said.

Some other key aspects of the proposal, according to Holland:
•Rooftop restaurant overlooking the park and Atlanta skyline.
•Fully enclosed atrium separating the hotel and residential towers, offering a voluminous art gallery display.
•Club-level amenities overlooking all three facades at approximately 80 feet above street level.
•All-weather infinity-edge swimming pool with retractable roof and wall.

What’s more, the project would include about 31,000 square feet of street retail, including slots facing the park. No timeline was provided

Generally, buildings are similar in cities or neighborhoods that are mainly built in the same era. You can see this all over the world. I still think Midtown Atlanta has incredible architectural diversity.
