I don't know if anyone else on the forum is subscribed to the newsletter but there were a couple of interesting nuggets contained in the one I got yesterday:

Interesting that there is now no mention of it being the tallest tower between Toronto and Calgary.

There's also a Chinese New Year special offer of $888 off any suite, $2,000 off parking or locker and extended payment structure.
The Smith is also the featured layout with a discount of $1,000 off any Smith purchase.


Are there any recent sales figure updates?

Thanks for the info. 575' eh. pretty tall for Winnipeg! Maybe they stopped using the Calgary to Toronto thing because they realized it's so patronizing to the locals. Based on some comments from SSP maybe.

Latest sales figures are still at 130+ units. I was thinking of taking a stroll down to the sales centre sometime to see whats up.

I think it's alright that they drop the "tallest tower between Toronto and Calgary" reference. The main point is that we'll finally have something taller than the cluster of buildings at Portage & Main.

^ Yeah, that's pretty decent height... that would be a top 10 building in every Canadian city except Toronto. It would be among the tallest buildings in Midwestern US cities like Denver, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Kansas City.

Seeing this tower finished will change the area dramatically. It will be a symbol I think, based on height, to many that the city can achieve greatness. Hopefully it will inspire others to invest in the downtown. The city has a large role to play in terms of infrastructure and beautification: you can build a stunning tower, but if the sidewalks, boulevards, streets, etc are crumbling, and there is no large presence of landscaping, the atmosphere will still be dreary imo.

I can never figure out how to directly link to specific reports. But this one is on site access for parking for SkyCity. 1 level of underground parking, 4 levels of above ground parking.There also appears to be a weird split in the middle of the building, as if there is a lane bisecting the site.



Pulled this interesting excerpt from the report:
The subject land currently contains a surface parking lot, however, the applicant wishes to
construct a 48 storey, mixed use building, with one level of underground parking, and four levels
of above-grade parking on the site. The ground level will contain commercial retail space, and
levels 6 and 7 will contain office space. The remaining levels will contain 388 residential units.

There's quite a bit of other good info in that meeting

So there's going to be two sizable parkades on Smith right next to each other, both being developed by the same people. Seems a bit odd.

SkyCity 5 storey parkade and the St. Regis 7 storey parkade, or whatever it is.

I was looking nice at that (or a similar list) recently. I was surprised to see the size of the Quebec City proposal. Tallest outside Toronto if it gets built I think.

I'm REALLY happy that they didn't put the garage access on Garry, I hope there's a good restaurant/bar CRU on the Garry-facing side. I really think Garry has the potential to become one of the best downtown streets. Especially if it's supposed to be the new main street for cyclists.

Walked by the SkyCity lot today and it looks like they updated sales numbers on their signage. It now says 140+ units sold.
