For a while yesterday I watched as a window cleaner did his thing on the condo tower, working around the vertical fins and horizontal sunshades or whatever they are. I can't imagine the core body strength this guy must have had to do so much twisting and contorting especially when he couldn't brace himself. Not at all like working on a plain flat surface. I hope they get paid well for this labour intensive work.

Funny.

Notice anything similar about tower B? Edmonton says "me too".

Wonder if the Y Yoga space will just be re-purposed into yet more office space?

The ledges do unify it a bit - but what's within the squares is still a far cry from the original.

Interesting remark. What do you mean precisely by "the original?"
Could I ask if you have a link to any renders of such? Thanks.

I think it's mainly the Richards Street facade of the condo tower and it's podium that have turned out so differently than might have been expected from these early models. Here are some old pics of the models from about 4 years ago.

Here's another twilight shot showing the plaza lighting on Georgia a bit better. Also, I thought it was curious that from this angle, the condo tower crane is not visible.

those onyx panels in the model look way better than the seafoam spandrel that is there now... yikes.. developer shouldn't be able to get away with changes like this.

I'm curious about that. Since they have to go through the UDP and get a development permit with a certain design, at what point does a design change require a new permit?

Yeah it makes you wonder what the whole point of "approving" the design originally when developers can seem to change things after. I know this has been discussed before but I still I don't get it. I understand how small changes can occur during development but in this case it's a huge change from the original plans which drastically changes the look and feel of half the tower

The steel sunshades (?) on the Robson side of the podium are being painted white:
