The data center will actually be a new building. The ABC Book Warehouse will be restaurants on the ground floor and hotel event/meeting space above.

According to the 1000 S Clark website, occupancy is available starting tomorrow. This would appear to be the second tower of the year to start accepting new residents after wolf point west had its first residents move in beginning Jan 15th. Do we know when other towers will have occupancy available? I'm thinking MILA and Marquee at Block 37 should be opening this spring as well.

Just saw an article on ChiArch about a small condo project at 56 W Huron which reminded me that I haven't heard anything about 100 W Huron in a long time. Anyone know if that project is still in the works?

Huron has been a pretty active street. With the Ronsley, 400 W Huron, a proposal for 300 W huron, the Hensley, a proposal for 100 W Huron, 56 W Huron, and the corner of state and huron.

^Speaking of ChiArchBlog, noticed this site diagram/rendering of LP Children's Museum site development that I haven't seen before, on their blog:

http://www.chicagoarchitecture.org/2...nother-hurdle/

Really shows the context well....as well as the rendering of the disgustingly designed Antonuvich building to the west. Incidentally, at a gathering with industry friends this weekend, no one had any positive comments about that firm, even with direct experience/current collaboration.

Prentice 2/8

Speaking of soulless corporations... directly across the street from the wild lawn.

Drilling a BIG hole - I was told they will be doing socketed caissons here, no grinders yet.

Piling it on

IIRC there is a steam tunnel / passageway under the walk here, the top of which would be at the blue line (or that passageway was where the line is ).
Flying cables is not allowed in Streeterville so all our data lines went through the tunnels, with the cadavers, and the steam pipes, fun times.

Nope - that is across the street - the site of the old Prentice Women's hospital.

Isn't that going one block further north - between Huron and Superior? I'm talking about the much larger block bounded by Huron, McClurg, Erie, and Fairbanks.

You guys are right - damn. Thought it was going in that big field. Isn't there something planned for that field though? I swear there is.... Would be a perfect spot for a great plaza for a small portion of it btw.

This is looking East from Fairbanks, Prentice and Huron on the left (crane), Rice and Erie on the right, 666 in the middle (680 for you revisionists).
