Do we know if they still plan to build that modular "jenga" design or has the architect changed?

I actually don't hate 108 N Jefferson as much as I thought I would from the rendering... Probably just because there's no beige yet.

Yes - that is a big heavy electro-magnet on the end of the arm, it makes a nice thump when slapped down on the mud, sending waves radiating out for a dozen feet like a big bowl of pudding. You can see the pile of scrap in the foreground of the first shot.

Only for partition walls. Demising walls, exterior walls and floorplates are all steel.

Word for the day

Demising walls can also be called as diminishing partition or party wall or simply a common wall. It is the boundary that separate tenant's space from that of the other and from the common corridor.

Not sure we've seen these renderings of Riverline yet. From http://archpaper.com/news/articles.asp?id=8458#.VrksHJMrJZ1:

Still disappointed there's no rendering for the Well St side. Only quote I was able to find in the article about Wells St retail:
Quote:
Conceived to be a more naturalistic recreational area near the river, and a more geometric retail space on the street-side of the site

yes it is, no clue why, it looks like they framed an interior before completing some exterior walls, I drove by here yesterday and got stopped at the light trying to figure out what in the heck they are doing with that wood!

Can someone decode this? It's been awhile since college, but I'm pretty sure ALL space is "geometric."

Does anyone even know what Wells St itself will look like? even though a rendering could be done without regard to the physical street limitations.
What kind of street structure will be built on Wells?

And a diagram/map of the entire plan would help to show the connections to the surrounding area... pedestrian entrances, driveways, etc.

Chicago Architecture Blog has a diagram of what the site will look like at the bottom of their article:
http://www.chicagoarchitecture.org/2015/...-with-ambitious-5-tower-south-loop-plan/

In other news, 4 E. Huron was issued a demolition permit yesterday. Is this a sign that the State & Huron highrise is moving forward?

Think of it as a good placeholder....the city can come through later and add "real" river walk infrastructure that we are seeing at the split (that cost would be way prohibitive for a developer)
Is there something missing? I would not expect much to be added after the fact.

Based on the article, good to see the semi-private walk nonsense will be ending.
