Thats a very helpful link thanks.

I almost made a huge mistake around xmas when I stopped into Pumphouse and thought that the new lot on Queen(?) with the big propane tank had free weekend/xmas parking. Gates were open and there was no sign about booting/towing. Drove into the lot, but my gut instinct said to go elsewhere and lucky I did, waitress at Pumphouse said theyve been towing people.

Parking in moncton right now is like swimming with sharks, except I think that sharks are more kind hearted

This lot(behind catch 22) is actually a gated pay lot now, credit card/debit only.

2.00 per 1/2 hour a sign of things to come.

Interesting. In my opinion tho, they should have just built the combined hospital 1 English tower, 1 French tower, when it was planned back in the day. It would save having to do capital upgrades on 2 buildings.

At first I was like, I wonder if it's a parking garage, but that would be too smart. Any word of if Mocton Hospital will ever get one to replace their current parking situation?

According to the T&T, plans are close to being announced for a repurposing of the old Moncton High School. Apparently it will have a community focus, and will maintain the architectural facade amd major elements of the building including the auditorium.

The plans will require federal and provincial funding to get off the ground, but the facility is expected to be "self sustaining".

More details in the spring.........

They were doing a fair amount of work on the roof during Christmas. I wondered if there was something afoot. This could be good news.

I would assume towards the end of the month when the snow is melted.

In the T&T today that the Moncton diocese is within spitting distance of their $7M fundraising goal to restore the Assomption Cathedral. They have raised over $6.5M.

So, as far as the three Gothic pillars of downtown Moncton heritage is concerned:

1) - Castle Manor - currently undergoing condo conversion.
2) - Assomption Cathedral - fundraising for renovation nearly complete
3) - Moncton High School - plans for repurposing the building to be revealed in the spring.

Re 55 Queen: Their website now states that condo owners can expect to move in "early 2017." It's been pushed back at least two years; let's see what this spring brings. http://fivefive.ca/specifications/

Re Dolma: I heard reconstruction may begin as early as next month. Plan would be a two-storey building with a larger footprint (reduced parking): grocery store on first, restaurant & apartments on second, and a licensed summertime rooftop terrace, which AFAIK would be unique in Moncton.

I knew there had to be something still happening because they still have the un-sold condos listed, and also the un-sold/leased commercial space on the main level. But was really not holding my breath because they din't seem to be giving any news on it...

Have you noticed if this date was recently added to their website? If so, then they would probably need to get started really soon, seems like an ambitious date for this large of a building.

A licensed rooftop terrace would be a huge draw for them, taking advantage of their downtown location. Hiding the parking in the rear of the building would also be nice. It's a really unfortunate event but at least we may end up with something even nicer in its place.
