At the pace Ken King works, it'll probably be another ten years before we hear anything. Or in other words - it's dead, lol. Doesn't seem to be any public appetite for it anyway, given the terrible initial proposal and current economy/job situation.

Um, can we just wait for the West Village environmental report findings in April first, before we dismiss this project as 'dead'?

Every time they delayed the expectations got higher. And then what they showed was disappointing even to people who weren't following things. It might be good to keep a low profile until they have something of substance.

It's going to give a good indication on LOE to get the area re-mediated. That's the first step in this whole process and what city council is waiting on. It's a huge piece of the pie.

This project will not go away. It will be debated, modified, re-imagined, etc.. but ultimately, it will get built at some point.

Something may get built on that land eventually, but it won't be CalgaryNEXT. That proposal was dead on arrival. Especially with the developments being built in other cities, what will be built is going to be completely unrecognizable, which unforunately will probably mean ditching the stadium in favour of a public square and bars and other amenities.

The latest episode of Billions had one of the lead guys fly to Quebec City for a Metallica concert, and they showed an exterior shot of the arena and then filmed a scene inside on the floor (during concert set-up)... and parts of the actual concert.

CalgaryNext will eventually transform to a New Arena in a different location and a renovated McMahon stadium. I don't see the city building the stamps a new stadium dressed up as a field house, who is falling for this?. Not as long as Nenshi is still involved and even then that new arena is 10 years away. I'm almost sure the sens will be settled in a new arena before Calgary even breaks ground on one. Rogers place and the New flames rink will likley share the same age difference Rex and the dome currently do. IMO the New Arena in Calgary is right on track (the dome hasn't even hit 34 yet, rexall is 44) and I'm sure the flames group expected this delay. It's the stamps who are gonna suffer until the "next" project is dropped and money is raised for a reno to the stadium

Just thought it was neat how the arena was featured and they weren't trying to pretend it was a different arena/city. Beats showing a picture of Edmonton's arena only 3 days after the last picture was taken/shown.

BMO is pulling out of TFC as the major sponsor. I wonder what this means for the BMO field naming rights? A fresh start wouldn't be a bad thing at all. Try and shed as much MLS stigma as possible from Toronto's new CFL venue (that can also be converted to house a soccer team)

BMO pulled out last year way before the Argos deal was finalized. MLSE did not announce it as they could still push shirt sales and they did not have a new sponsor signed in time, it was supposed to be changed for last season.

The rumors are it will be KIA. It is mused that a car company is taking over it would make sense it is KIA.

Also the stadium stays the same. BMO is pulling out as the kit sponsor but not for the stadium.

I thought i was pretty polite haha. And honestly most of the guys over there are first class. Just a few MR Corporate's convinced that the Argos are terminal ill spouting off about senseless nothing's. "TFC is worth this much and the Argos are worth this much therefor the CFL is dead" basic TFC logic.

I really don't think you have a solid understanding or adequate pulse on the situation in Calgary.
