They never report suicides. Everybody knows what it is, the news even referenced the coroner being there.

The shuttle was running on the outbound.

Mostly normal service has resumed at 19:45. Millennium Line is still only operating between VCC-Clark and Columbia because of upcoming Metrotown single-tracking work tonight.

Are you sure they're still doing single tracking at Metrotown? That was supposed to be finished last week.

Maybe they're back to rail replacement. They definitely said that single-tracking for maintenance was still on for tonight.

There is one XDE60 on the 096 right now; we just have to see if the block that starts at 3:19 will be another one.

In addition to this, PCTC and STC recently gave up 1 D60LF each for retirement (8025 and 8001)

I'm hearing about this from pretty much everyone. I'm counting on a run-in of sorts today as I take the 96 twice. It would be nice if I get to have it for the whole trip

Nice shots, thanks. So the Buzzer called these "diesel electrics" - does that mean that they're hybrids? What's the ride experience like?

Yeah, they're hybrids with the "hybrid" sticker right next to the door.

The ride experience is as you'd expect... fluid, smooth and quiet. Since most of Surrey's buses have been older and louder, the difference is really like night and day when you're on these buses.

Its Feb 2016 already. Where's my shiny new MkIII?

When is the next set of MkIII cars arriving?

Maybe not until May or June.

Mind you they need like 6-7 months of testing.

They haven't even delivered the second set yet.

no I mean when is the next order of trains going to be purchased (for in service for 2018). We really need that second option of at least 28 exercised. Would be great to have all 6-car Mark I trains and all 4-car Mark II/III trains including the broadway shuttle.

Why not make the MkIII option order 5-car train sets?
Would these still fit the current platforms?
I suspect yes, but with the end noses beyond the platforms - as long as the first and last doors of the train are on the platform this should be OK.

With Trudeau II throwing money around ....

There's nothing preventing us having Bombardier do a minor redesign of the two end cars so they have two doors with slightly bigger spacing, the second door between where the (current design) 1st and 2nd would be, so as to fit our platforms.

It's not necessarily infeasible. The JFK, Everline and Beijing (ART 200) trains have two doors; and the Riyadh (Metro 300) trains will have 3 doors but the end doors will be closer to the car ends.

Personally I'd rather not get a bunch of trainsets with yet another different door spacing layout.
