Ottawa truly deserves all that looks to be coming its way.

Yes, please fill the Flats. They current cut off the downtown from the rather urban Hintonburg and totally mess with the city's urban form.

For a bit of context, it will be located along our riverfront next door to the under-construction Remai Modern Art Gallery (just to the right of it in this rendering):

That's a fabulous Alt Hotel proposal for Saskatoon. At 17 storeys that will make an awesome modern impact along the river, especially being so close to the new Art Gallery of Saskatchewan! Great news Is this the hotel portion of the River Landing proposal?

Id love for ALT to open something in downtown Toronto. All they have in the GTA right now is some horridly ugly thing out by the airport.

Yes, it's phase one of the long-delayed River Landing Village proposal.

Finally I'll bet you're stoked to see movement on River Landing. The first solid movement ever on the project in fact, with an even more modern design than was initially proposed in the concept!

That's the best looking Alt Hotel so far. Even if that's not saying a lot.

A lot of similarities between this and the new central library in downtown Halifax:

Over in the Man/Sask forum, I pointed out how the condo portion of the tower resembles the gorgeous River City Condos in Toronto. Another forumer made the link that the developer of River City also partnered in the Alt Hotel/Glasshouse Condo in Winnipeg.

If it's a similar partnership, and built to a similar quality as River City, then that is quite something for Saskatoon.

Definitely. There was an excavator on the site this past fall moving some dirt around and I nearly had a cardiac event.

There's no plans for that at the minute unfortunately.

What will be fun to watch with this Saskatoon project is that the hotel portion will be built via modular construction. All the rooms will be built off-site and craned into place.

Saskatoon and Regina are both a pair of handsome little cities. Happy to see nice development.

1181 Queen Street.

This and the two Frankie posted above I find to be very quintessentially "Toronto" in architectural style.

Wow, it actually looks pretty nice. No overwhelming spandrel or tacked-on balconies and pleasant looking cladding
