INK looks great. Rivertwin is awful, awful, awful. They look like they belong somewhere in Auburn bay. At least the brown building beside it is more dense and has a more urban feel to it. Too bad they are condos because they need to redo that building.

They are all official proposals or under construction. I believe Riverhouse is on hold indefinitely.

I am okay with Riverhouse being on hold as long as XYC M2 parcel goes through!

In fact, 2 of the 5 proposals I posted there will be starting for sure this year, 1 is already under construction, and there's potential for a third (the XYC development) to start this year as well.

The way I see it, the XYC development has a chance to go through this year due to the nature of the building itself. The entire main floor will be restaurants, easy to lease in that area of the city even in a down economic climate. The 2nd and 3rd floors are boutique office space, perhaps not "easy" to lease but in this iconic location and in such a stunning building, a small firm could easily fill that space if they start leasing soon. While the 4th floor is one single condo. I'm not sure if they'd be able to sell such an expensive place in that climate but I'm sure rich people are still looking at downtown even in this climate, all it takes is one. There's definitely hope for this one, this year or next.

I wouldn't expect XYC to get going this year. Of course anything is possible, but don't think we will see/hear much on this moving forward in the immediate future.

I'm hopeful for it just because how small it is, but yeah perhaps not this year. Not a big deal though, considering everything else EV has on the go for this year

There is no proposal for that block. That entire part of the video is conceptual. That is what planning has mandated that a developer put there though, like the pedestrian mall section and the plaza along the Riff.

The XYC project is actually my favourite proposal at the moment. I love the simplicity of the design and how well it fits in the location. It will be a great addition to the already changing Confluence Way and will bring lots of new activity into that area. I really hope it can start soon, but as others have mentioned, I'm not holding my breath.

Looks like phase 2 of N3 might start this yr too. Ink by Batistella should break ground too but i believe they're not part of the CMLC managed areas.

You're right about Ink not being part of the CMLC managed areas. I was happy to see though that per page 44 of the report that they are working with the other developers in the East Village to work towards a complete neighbourhood.

Ink looks a lot better in those newest images. Not sure if it's changed at all or if it's simply different angles and colour.

I was actually in EV today and noticed a building I'd never seen before. It's nothing fancy but there is a white Art Deco building that looks about 2 floors right beside that fugly concrete parkade right next to the lrt tracks. Anyone know what it is? Hopefully they manage to keep it as these small character buildings add a bit of grit and interest to all the shiny new glass towers,
