Not to mention, while the average person may not want to live in 350 sq ft (so a lot of folks in Austin may be up in arms with "unlivable conditions" haha), there are so many artists, etc., who don't make enough to pay for downtown living currently but would love to be there. I think that type of setup will fill very quickly.

Absolutely. I lived in a 475 square foot apartment in Greenwich Village in New York because of a fantastic location. If only bankers and others with money live in a neighborhood... whoo, what a boring neighborhood.

Nice. I love that area. I think if I were single still and playing music more, I'd take advantage of something like that. My wife wouldn't go for it, but we do live in an apartment in a fairly urban setting, so I've got that going.

Wow, nice updates! I hadn't seen all of those plans for 2nd/Seaholm, nor the 6th St. proposal. Really good stuff, a lot of aesthetically pleasing features coming to that side of town. I foresee many a Sunday afternoon spent wandering around that area by foot, especially when I've got visitors from other parts of the country. Nice to have places like that to show off and to enjoy.

I don't remember if this was posted or not, but there's a site plan filed for a hotel at 2510 South Congress. I was riding down South Congress yesterday and rode past the site and noticed the Taste of China restaurant was closed at like 6:30. I thought that was odd. So I guess whatever they're planning is coming soon.

I believe you got your addresses mixed up, Kevin. You linked the incorrect city permit case, which is where you got 7701. But your link to google streetview is correct (2510).

My head is spinning with all of these addresses.

I think the one with the recently ironed out air and basement rights is technically 721 Congress, which is the vacant building right next to State Theater.

The other is the one you posted about a couple months ago, 900 Congress, which was Prosperity Bank.

800 Congress is the 2-3 story entertainment space with the rooftop deck that is replacing Hickory Street Bar & Grill.

I remembered something I posted about on shaggy in 3/2014 about that little 916 Congress office project. Just adds to the idea that the north end of the street will have more life in the not too distant future.
