MUP application for WSCC expansion
By JOURNAL STAFF
http://www.djc.com/news/re/12084711.html

SEATTLE — The team planning the $1.4 billion expansion of the Washington State Convention Center has applied for a master use permit.

The permit would cover the expansion as well as a 29-story residential building and a 16-story office building.

The sites are bounded by Pine and Howell streets and Ninth Boren avenues. The latest plan calls for a 200-foot-tall, 1.4 million-square-foot expansion of the convention center with 600 to 800 parking spaces.

Third Avenue building eyed for rehab — and 8-story addition
By LYNN PORTER
Journal Staff Reporter

A group is proposing to add eight stories to the 1928 terra cotta clad building at 1915 Third Ave. that houses Belltown Self Storage, near Seattle's retail core.

An early design guidance meeting is tentatively set for Feb. 16 on the proposal, which also calls for renovating the six-story structure.

When complete, there would be 44 residential units, 112 lodging units, and 3,680 square feet of ground floor commercial space, according to information filed with the city.

The meeting is slated for 7 p.m. at Seattle City Hall, 600 Fifth Ave., Room L280.

Here's the latest look for Clise's twin towers
By JOURNAL STAFF

Clise Properties has refined the design for its twin tower complex at 2301 Seventh Ave. in the Denny Triangle.

Documents submitted to the city show the tweaked design resembles the “Cubist” option that was one of three Clise had considered.

A city design-review board met on the 19th regarding this project, and it looks like they received a correction notice for parts of the plans not being detailed enough. So not quiet ready yet, I would assume.

At every stage it's a few steps to get everything right -- design review is a few steps, MUP is a few stages with each reviewer to get approval plus more steps to get the actual permit, each of the phased building permits is a few steps with each reviewer....

Madison Centre & The Mark from Jan 25, 2016

Before we know it, these will start to be visible from around town.

Looks like The Mark is on ~14th fl, but I couldn't see any steel yet, even from above looking down a bit.

Due to work opportunities, my family and I are moving out of state. I wanted to thank everyone for the awesome updates. If anyone is free during the day over the next couple of weeks, I am free to come down to meet up. DM me. If not, take care care and keep this city booming!

Navy, be sure to post your note over at the Seattle subforum on Skyscraper City. The Seattle contingent moved over there a few years ago. I just try (with MASSIVE help from Vashon) to keep a presence here on SSP.

I'm locked down at work during the day. Are you leaving the region completely or just out of WA? Wish you the best.

My wife got a promotion, but it means moving. She works for the DoD. We are headed to Ft Polk, Louisiana. Upside is there will be a Sonic drive in in town! Houston is 185 miles away and NO is 225 miles. Not sure how far Dallas is,but it isn't too much further. 305 miles according to Google. I've lived in the Deep South before so I'm not too stressed about that. I lived in Fallon, NV, so small towns don't bug me either. I'm just not used to being out in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully, it will be for only a year or two. We are using this as a stepping stone to get stationed overseas. Japan or Germany hopefully. I am on SSC, but I forgot my password. I'll figure it out. Thanks!
