I was enjoying the view of downtown, I didn't notice the boat until I played it back. Reminds me of a centipede.

LegalZoom has been making commercials in Austin (obviously since they have an office here).

This one features Chi'lantro and a couple quick shots of downtown.

Those were fun, thanks for posting. Did you see the one where there was a fantastic shot of downtown from Auditorium Shores? I don't recall the company but it was some sort of financial planning or life insurance type of product. I'd like to find that and post it here, maybe you know the one I'm talking about? It was one of those penultimate Austin days with a deep blue sky with a few gorgeous clouds, probably the most flattering video I've ever seen of the Austin skyline.

That sounds like the Charles Schwab commercial from a couple years ago.

It was a Super Bowl commercial a couple years ago. Had a bunch of people plot on a giant board the oldest person they personally know. Then talked about saving for retirement.

That's the one. I just tried searching for it and came up with zilch, which surprises me. Maybe I just suck at web searches, even though I've been doing them for 20+ years.

Yup. That was the Schwab commercial. That commercial had an unusually long life on TV compared to most commercials. It was followed up with similar spots in Charlotte and NYC, I believe.

Cool video of a concert from 1980. This shows the construction of 700 Lavaca.

This city is changing so fast. Forget about any new projects. Just imagine what this place will look like in a few years when the current pipeline of projects gets built...

So with the Fairmont, plus whatever gets built on the courthouse block, there probably won't be a gap anymore between 360 and the San Jacinto Center anymore. Plus, the Independent and 5th & West will help fill in the gap to the left of 360.

Austin's getting dense to the point that there are some really cool reflections in the glass of buildings now.

Here's one from Google Tower

And a cool one of the Austin Music Hall (personally I always found this part of that building cool. I'll miss it)
