They look different IMO.

They don't have the same rounded edge caps as the CL's Mitron signs, and the font of the EDGE TEST text is different.

Maybe looking at what Bombardier has used in more recent projects may give an idea?

It's possible that the sign that you see is an updated version of the original Mitron model installed on the Canada Line stations...
Using previous orders as a reference, Mitron signs are also present on all the Bombardier Mark IIb trains that TransLink ordered before the Olympics.

Unfortunately it appears that the company doesn't list all of their products anymore, preferring instead to describe its bespoke approach to the electronic information display business.
So we can't say for sure unless someone has a good view of the manufacturing label.

That reminds me that I should really see if I can nag TransLink's asset procurement/liquidation department regarding one of those. They do look really cool.

Maybe they can also replace the last of the VanOlympics signage too.

Hmm, the pictures there make it look quite low to the ground. I go to the pool across the street from there a few times a week and it looks about normal for a SkyTrain station.

It looks lower than Millennium line stations, but about the same as the Richmond branches of the Canada Line.

Traffic lights would be aligned at the top of the guideway.

Looking again from across the street tonight, there's definitely a downward slope as the line terminates to the north. Kind of odd. Not sure why they did that.

It just looks that way. The guide way is actually flat. The hill is sloped up. So it gets closer to ground at the end.

I think the low height of the guideway (incl. Canada Line) makes it more pedestrian friendly/ pedestrian scale, in that it doesn't overshadow/ loom high above you like the Millennium Line does. It can blend in with the surroundings better than if it were taller (plus there's the lower cost of less materials for a shorter guideway).

City of Coquitlam is busy doing the hardscaping and softscaping along Pinetree section of the SkyTrain line. Most/if not all of the curb work south of Lincoln Ave and new realigned access to mall are complete. Bit of curb work between Lincoln and Guildford remains. Most pedestrial/street level lighting enhancements and fencing are installed. Some planting has been complete and even more staged. Top lift of asphalt, of course, remains outstanding.

I haven't seen any work started with respect to the 'Light Columns' located in front of City Hall and located in front of A&W, or 'The Branches' art installation in front of the Library. Based on the artist rendering, the City Hall installation will require realignment of the south-turn yield from Guildford to Pinetree - I'm sure that will piss off some drivers. The Branches makes sense not to have started since it is being installed under the guide-way.

Flyover

There was a media tour of Burquitlam and Moody Central stations today. These are some of the images posted to Twitter.

So the way they have it signed - the trains will be right-railing through Burquitlam Station (not wrong-railing).

That Burquitlam Station looks so ready to be used. I still can't believe its over a year away from being in service all because the powers to be refuses to open it early! And what for? Because some planner in Translink is too lazy to do some adjustment of routes and systems on a phased roll out?

Could they really not of used Line?

Expo Line
---------Millenium Line
-----------------------Canada line
----------------------------------Evergreen EXTENSION

Sure, it's some bastard child of an extension of the Millenium Line but it just sounds so weird compared to the other routes.

I can imagine "Evergreen extension" branding being completely removed once the UBC extension is built.

Yeah, I'm pretty chapped about the Evergreen extension name. It's just so unnecessary. It's a compromise that's worse than either alternative. Why complicate a system when you don't need to?

This is happening because some people, who lick all the right boots in Victoria, did not want to lose the "Evergreen brand."

*yawn* how many times do you have to say the same imbecilic thing...

side note: the 2 stations looks great.

I always thought that a far better solution to Keep the name "Evergreen" in the project would have been to simply name one of the stations "Evergreen" in Coquitlam.
