I wouldn't be surprised if it was eliminated entirely. With that said, it seems like guess may be another dying brand. Sales are down and costs are up, still profitable but in reality that company desperately needs a refresh. Plus they are getting killed by brands like H&M and Zara.

Seems to be a lot of mid market retailers/brands are suffering. High end and low end are the places to be.

I finally checked out Simons in Park Royal, very impressive, nicer than Nordstrom IMO. Seemed to be very successful and attracting people from south of the inlet.

Trattoria on the other hand was so slow that they ended up giving our (tiny) meals to my wife and I for free without us saying a word. Good food though.

I've spent half my savings at Simons!! Love that place, best men's selection in Metro Van IMO!! As for Trattoria, been several times, always issues, cold food, slow service and the portions are tiny, especially the $17 - $20 pasta dishes, the opposite of what you'd expect from a place claiming to be Italian.

Walked by Nordstrom this morning and all traces of the holidays have already been removed (wraps on the windows gone and peering inside all the decorations are gone) - all before the 12th day of Christmas (Jan 6th, Epiphany)!

Armani Exchange store on Robson has For Lease signs in the window.

Seems Robson is very fragile these days. If there were demand, why wouldn't this very prime space be leased without having to advertise it with window signs? I know the 1100 block is a mess but thought this block was doing quite well.

metrotown also has empty space scattered throughout the mall and or have local non branded stores moved into existing without any reno. Example where Mess and la vie rose used to be

I don't remember anyone mentioning this but Cabelas looks to be opening in Abbotsford

Crazy busy in there. You can tell they bring in special racks for all the clearance items.
The clearance racks are like a Winners - all the sale stuff in one place.
Weird thing is - their clearance prices are all handwritten on the price tags!

Hudson's Bay (menswear) was also busy, but not as busy as Nordstrom.

The handwritten thing is the same in the US. If the item goes back to regular price, they reprint the ticket.

It's been busy there for much of Xmas and into the New Year. Their clearance items will remain on the floor until this Sunday (the 10th). After that, they'll get sent to the US Nordstrom Racks until Canada has their own, sometime in 2017.

Just to put into perspective how busy it is, Nordstrom has said that Vancouver flagship is their busiest most successful store in the world.

Will be interesting to see how long it can hold that title, as the expanded HR opens and the shine wears off the new brand, but a huge win for both Vancouver and Nordstrom nevertheless.

that was the same for victoria secret when they opened and Macarther glen.

I read that Nordstrom expects the store to hold onto that title until the Manhattan flagship opens on 57th Avenue.

Vancouver has among the highest per-capita retail sales numbers on the continent, and Pacific Centre is among the top 5 sales per square foot figures on the continent as well. Combine that with the shine of a new to market tenant and one should be surprised if their PSF sales weren't extraordinarily strong.
