It looks like they might still be clearing out some things or prepping for demolition. Lord knows it's a lot more complicated a process than you'd initially think. I think asbestos abatement has already been done, because there was a new container for debris that wasn't there the other day.

Yeah, taking out the parking there seems like a no-brainer to me. Hopefully they do that. North of there the sidewalks are pretty narrow. Hopefully they do something like the Great Streets program or something on more of the N/S streets as well. It's cool that the pedestrian connection is significantly improved at least crossing the creek - now there's a pedestrian crossing at every block from Cesar Chavez to 6th Street.

^^^ Agree with this. The sidewalks on West in particular need improvement.

Okay I know it's late and the bridge is up but here's the site plan (under "PLANS") for the creek trail and bridge improvements. I'm not sure, but it does look like there might be a sidewalk extension to 4th on page 26.

Looks like it's going to be a pretty big overhaul on this segment of the creek.

Since the groundbreaking with the suits and their shovels is Monday, I suspect the building will be gone by the end of the weekend.

They're certainly working fast, but it looks like there's still a bunch of walls and stuff to clear out from the interior before they really get going.
