Demolition of the old Mt. Sinai Hospital continues - shame something couldn't have been made of this old building:

Renders, if you forgot:

Newer construction completed and under construction at 3rd and Reed Streets:

Drove by a huge hole under construction at 17th and Carpenter. Just had to google what it was!

Forgive me if this has been mentioned before, I don't personally remember hearing about it on this forum.

CRAZY how this is approved and underway while 23rd and South (which you would expect is a much more density-prone stretch) is completely shot down.

I just love that intersection. That tiny epicenter of a neighborhood could be so idealized if the right plans came through for those empty lots.

There's now just 1 empty lot facing the Triangle at 23rd and South. The lot further down on the street is under construction as Bloc 23 Condos. This is Barb Failer territory so all bets are off.

Well with the new zoning amendments, the development can now be built by right. Hopefully the developers recognized this and start moving on this project.

"Pennovation" building at 34th x Grays Ferry is well under construction/renovation if anyone has the opportunity to swing by for a set of photos.

There is a membership drive for the facebook group 'Greater Philadelphia Planners, Urbanists and Designers'

Just search that name and ask to join. They are just shy of 1,500!

Forty 3-bedroom apartments (aimed at students/young professionals as there is no "master bedroom" and all 3 bedrooms each have their own private bathroom).

Wow, Shadowbat. I don't think I've ever seen the inside of the Gallery. Super bleak and depressing. (I'm sure even worse now than when there were more tenants) This renovation can't begin soon enough. Anyone hear of any updates on it?
