Like someone123 said, it shows the progress being made within the NFB building (they are taking their time to hopefully do a good job). That is the first interior construction shot that I have seen of the NFB building.

Q12's photo also shows the mob of 3 dozen people who are crowding the oval.

I don't think it's a waste.

I DO think it's in the wrong place... or, at least that proper consideration wasn't given to where it should be... but, I don't think it's a waste.

I believe amenities like the oval are part of what makes a successful city, contributing to higher standards of living and creating focal points for a positive self-identity.

I don't use the Oval, but I am glad it is here and agree with your comments as to how it improves the city.

Outdoor rinks for public skating do improve a city. The Oval is not that. Nor do those cost millions of dollars to construct nor do they require an operations structure for millions more to rent skates and helmets and sledges, c/w uniformed staff to oversee it all. The Oval is an utter boondoggle.

That does not offset the reality that it is a hugely wasteful and unnecessary expense. The same result could have been obtained at far less cost with a public skating rink, while also being less intimidating to many who do not want to take on the massive oval.

That's what the BMO Centre is for. But that's another "boondoggle", right?
