My knowledge of construction is limited to what I've picked up on this forum but does all that rebar at the bottom of the pit constitute the "slab" and does that mean we'll see a mega-pour of concrete one day soon to indicate that Telus Sky is officially on the rise?

Will this make it to grade level by Stampede? This is by far my fave tower u/c here at the moment.

I would estimate that it'll actually be a couple floors above grade by Stampede. This is a really small site. Here's hoping for a speedy rise!

Okay, since you're all so knowledgeable, what exactly is the roof top white circle thing on the rooftop of the building in the bottom left of this picture? I've seen it in other pictures and it appears to possibly be a bar, if so then for which business?

It's the rooftop bar for Standard. It's a new(ish) nightclub in the alley between 7th and 8th Avenues. Most of the club is actually underground, but they have the rooftop space and a sort of balcony/fire escape space as well. I've only been once as it was the venue for the bear party during pride (Wild Pride). It is an extremely nice venue but insanely overpriced drinks and not that great of service. Possibly one of our most "urban" single nightlife experiences though.

I had not seen these renderings of the sky gardens. Looks awesome I hope it might be open to the public. If not at least on Open Door YYC!

Yes there are structural steel components below grade. Above grade, all CIP construction.

When you say components are you referring to what 707 5th did in their grade slab over the driving lanes? i.e. a steel beam embedded in the grade slab to increase it's span?
