Now you know how I personally feel about the WTC site downtown Manhattan.
It's been far too many painful years for me and it's still under construction.

But if it makes you feel any better, you are going to have a very nice building in a location that makes me personally thrilled.

1601 Vine Street represents what happens when developers open their minds to extending the skyline in ways that will have others follow.

The temple that the LDS are building in your city looks beautiful. That is going to be timeless and really fits in well with the Logan Square area of Philly.

Funny how 370' here will be totally transformative but 1919 Market's 337' at it's location is hugely disappointing.

It's always about context. I think 1919 would've been a great building around 38th Street, or somewhere further south on Broad.

And a point of theological order for KidPhilly: The LDS temple is not a "cathedral." A cathedral is a church (regardless of size or architectural details) that houses the seat/throne of a bishop (the "cathedra") - not a term for any worship site that is impressive in size or beauty. Bishops in LDS ecclesiology do not serve the same function as bishops in the Roman Catholic Church (or the Orthodox or Anglican churches). Therefore, they do not have cathedrals, nor do most Protestant denominations.

It's all about location.
That's the key to marketing commercial real estate in an urban environment.

For great *new* photos from the Angel Maroni statue installation on top. This is also the confirmed best source to be made aware of the VERY SHORT preview on the temple - your only chance to see the "heavenly" interiors as a commoner.

The image above shows what a great view Logan Square has of a lot of the developments happening. SW you have FMC, S you have CITC, NE you have Mormon tower and temple...oh and N you have Museum Towers. Really gives the square a more dense feel. Plus the the fact that you have an entrance to a restaurant now off Logan Square to the new Logan hotel.

"Construction of the temple is scheduled to be done by this fall and the facility will be open to the general public during a series of open houses."

Seeing the Museum Tower filling in the gap from behind is awesome from that vantage point. It is hard to believe how big the apartment tower is going to be. Some serious big city construction. Great photo. The lights on the mormon church are out of this world.
