This one shows how much of an impact on the city the Cogswell interchange redevelopment could have. In the future the part with all of the orange sodium lighting is going to be more like the downtown blocks to the left.

What do you mean by "with housing"? There's certainly apartment buildings downtown, but if you mean houses, there's a few town houses in downtown S. End, but not otherwise. And most of them have been converted to other uses such as boutiques, offices, or B&Bs.

This sculpture does nothing for me, but in this pictured combination, it is pretty cool. In fact, the strong lines of the building give the sculpture another level of scale and improve it as it appears here. (Though I don't like it, I also have not seen it first hand. I would guess it is an interesting experience from the inside, or up close.)

Not sure what's confusing about the question, but I mean very intimate streets with (I'm guessing more often than not) prewar housing. I like the intimacy of streets like that and I'm wondering if Halifax has this. I'm assuming it does.

What was confusing is that there are a lot of different types of housing. The question could have been if there is much downtown residential of any kind or if downtown was mostly office like in some cities. It could also have been asking if there were downtown districts that were just residential or if the residential was mixed with other uses.
But yes, Halifax has this type of areas but mostly in inner city neighbourhoods adjacent to downtown rather than downtown itself.

Nouvellecosse, I'm not asking about type of housing but more about if Halifax has streets that are very narrow (i.e. with an intimate scale) with housing on them (rather than just back lanes). But if there are commercial streets like this as well, then just as cool.
