please hurry, I don't have much longer....

Hopefully, this will be moved to the Construction threads. It's been too long. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that way. This will be a beautiful project, once completed.

I walked by today. Not perfectly clear, but it seems to me that legitimate excavation has started. Finally.

when I went by the coring rig wasn't in use and was sitting at street level near the construction trailer. I couldn't tell what was actually going on down in the hole, but I didn't see any dump trucks or excavation going on.

Are you sure they're caissons? They could just be caisson-shaped piles of rebar stuck in the ground in caisson-like fashion ...

Yeah, you do have to wonder whether this is going to become site prep for a future development. I'll feel better when I see more than big arrows pointing to a patch of rebar.

Clearly they're installing caissons to support the new parking kiosk they will construct when they repave this for a new surface parking lot

If they're installing caissons, that means this is 99% moving forward barring an overnight economic collapse.

Hopefully that's what we're seeing and not the Lost Ark peeking out of the ruins of ancient Philly.
