Fantastic!! This and the purchase of the industrial lands further up Wellington could really help this area come back to life. Plus it's only 1 km from James Street, so it will help the renaissance spread down Barton St, which has properties ripe for redevelopment.

Kudos to Ron. He's getting up there in age so I see him making something happen sooner than later.

This building on the right that had the facade falling off now has a new one. It is all a darker gray concrete block from top to bottom.

I work for a siding and decking company that does industrial commercial institutional construction (ICI). All the siding is steel and we have done some really sharp looking office buildings with it.

They should fill the empty lots with those things just to give people/investors an idea what a revitalized downtown could look like. A kind of cheap advertising.

Maybe it's what Wilson Blanchard could have done beside Gore Park instead of the plywood treatment.

Hamilton's film permit office could still connect the dots on that... WB doesn't seem to be in much hurry to do anything.

Centre Point Plaza appears to have been sold by J Beume Real Estate to Effort Trust. It appears on their property listings, and is no longer on Beume's.

I wish they could demolish it and build something with prominence and maybe an LRT station.
