It's an interesting space (where Intech use to be). Basically it's a sort of flex space where they lease out each office and pretty much by table or floor space. All the offices along the parking lot side (facing 30th Street Station) are empty still as are some in the back. So the lawyers may have sucked up a couple window offices, which would mean you can look in at them while walking by.

The acoustics are a bit crazy in the space since they tore out the drop ceiling to reveal the 25'-ish tall concrete slab ceiling with I-beams exposed. It's one of my get-away-to spaces that I have access to. :^)

Cheers,
G.

Some good news about the proposed Cambria Hotel:
Quote:
A second representative from Choice Hotels reached out to us via email to point out that Philly's Cambria will be more like the Times Square high-rise and not the Pittsburgh version: "This property [in Times Square] is a much better reflection of what the Philadelphia property will look like with its urban courtyard and design."

You'll have to change your title to BenKatzParistoPhilly (formerly BenKatzPillytoParis).

Ha yeah. Well, since joining the forum, I moved from Paris to Rome, to Kinshasa, to Saint Petersburg, so...could be complicated ;-)

Coming home for 7 months.

Whoever hired that graphic designer for the CAMBRiA sucks. That logo is horrible, looks cheesy on anything.

On another note. Has anyone seen any new proposals for LED Billboards on East Market? I am excited to see this area change into a little times square.

I know we have the:
1.) Lit Bros. Building
2.) East Market Building (will have digital billboards)
3.) Gallery Renov. (Will have digital billboards)

Any other ones? If I owned a building in that area I would put a digital billboard up immediately. Seems like a lot of money can be made with them basically running commercials all day.

It's not like you can put them up without spending $10MM on "public improvements."

Sorry for interrupting , but my idea for spending $10MM.... or more , on
public improvements would start with filling in that frigging hole at 8th. &
Market . I get pissed and sick every time I pass that giant , missed opportunity.
Would love to see something like the canceled 670' Waldorf-Astoria that was
proposed for 1441 Chestnut , ancor that part of East Market .

Right now Goldenberg owns that lot. I would love to see them moved forward with a large mixed-used project here. You could easily fit three towers here. Two facing Market and one facing Chestnut. If we could even get one large company to commit to office space here, I think it could anchor a huge mixed use project here. I'm think an ~800 foot office tower, a ~600 foot hotel tower both facing Market with a ton of retail, and a ~400 footer facing Chestnut with ground floor retail.

Ahh, one could dream

Maybe it needs KOZ designation? Unless something like that is, I see another 1919 Market disappointment here. I agree with Summers that this lot deserves a mega tower.

Definitely. We should get a councilman to put in a bill to designate this lot a KOZ. Who is the councilman for this district? What district is this even in?
