We JUST got snow 2 days ago (the 24th of November);which is really unusual for Edmonton. We've almost cut out a whole month of winter

We had some snow a few days ago in Toronto, so don't let him fool you. It didn't last but it was around for a half a day or so.

That is where one endzone will be for the Argos and it will be where the retractable seating will be for TFC / Soccer / Rugby etc.

TSN reported that BMO will likely have 17 yard endzones for football. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things (15% shorter isn't really a huge difference maker), although it is one more reason why the Argos should be establishing a long term plan to build their own stadium.

All football fields should be the exact same length and width across any league. This isn't baseball where the outfield can be different. The measurements are a major aspect of the game.

Clipped corners on endzones have been fairly common over the years, I don't see this as being much different. Like I said, 15% of the endzone is not really a major deal. Although failing to think ahead on this one was pretty boneheaded on Toronto's part.

It didn't, and still doesn't, hurt hockey, makes baseball interesting, and doesn't affect soccer at all. It's 15% of an already mammoth endzone.

Cool! I wish they would build more chain restaurants in downtown Toronto. ICE District looks cool, though, reminds me of Southore, just minus the baseball stadium and railway station. lol!

Well, if there are different-sized endzones, then what is the point of having rules? If a receiver catches a ball two yards outside of the 17-yard-deep endzone, then it's out of bounds. In a regular endzone, it would be a touchdown. That is a fallacy.

If it's not a big deal to change the size of your endzones, why did Winnipeg and Hamilton build their endzones in their new stadiums to be 20 yards? Why not make it 15 or 10 yards instead? It would bring the ends of the stadium in closer and give it a more intimate feel and the fans in the endzones would be that much closer to the action. It would also be better for soccer configurations.

Will the new stadium in Regina have 20 yard endzones?

^ Wpg, Ham and Sask have purpose-built CFL stadiums. BMO was not among those. Again, other stadiums have had minor modifications like corner cuts where there are running tracks around the field so it's hardly unprecedented.

Not ideal, but really nothing to lose any sleep over. There were decades when several NHL rinks weren't full regulation size... life went on.

17 yards is already cutting it close. Anything less would change the game. Imitation brands of football ("NFL", arena ball, whatever) have tried smaller size fields and we know how ridiculous the result looks.

Different field sizes are common in plenty of sports, even Premier League soccer. Only half the EPL pitches are the standard size. It's not the end of the world.

They already have their own stadium - the one they're moving into. It's a city owned stadium and they have as much right to be there as TFC does. It should have been built for both teams in the first place as the city intended.

Wait till we see the turf endzones at BMO...

To many apologetic words for BMO. Its a bush league set up for CFL football no matter how you slice it. 6 yards shorter and the only grass field in the league, lots of difference.

So far what Else proposed to the Ex board seems to be reality, so as mentioned it was also turf endzone(s) that were proposed.
