Interesting. a hotel there would be great. a hotel this close to the mall will be good again. Wonder where the plans are to put it. 59% does seem a bit low. I am sure its 100% at a lot of places on the weekends. Friday-Saturday

Actually the tore most of the hotel part off of Crystal Palace before converting the rest to Bass Pro, if memory serves. The front door of BP is well back from where the front wall of the Ramadas was.

Your correct in saying the hotel was tore down. Bass Pro tore down Ramada and just added the peaks you see today. I remember talking to staff at the hotel on there last night working. shortly after it was gone. I personally miss Mcginnis landing brunch. hopefully it makes a comeback in some other form.

A new japanese restaurant called Sugar Roll opened in downtown Dieppe yesterday. I haven't tried it yet. It's nice to have another sushi place in this neighborhood since Kishi Sushi closed a few weeks ago.

If you want mediocre over priced food we still have one of them in Fredericton

Here's CE3 Electronics on Aviation Blvd today. The exterior is complete.

Also, that multi tenant strip development behind the new Dollarama on Dieppe Blvd is coming along too. I would say that it's going to be an industrial/commercial building rather than a retail strip plaza.

According to the T&T, the owner of the Chan's House property has a couple of confirmed tenants for a redevelopment of the site. He is hopeful a third tenant may come on board. The article stated that construction might start in the spring. He wouldn't say which retailers/services have committed to the project as negotiations are ongoing.

Is Chan's House in the No drive thru zone of Dieppe or Nah. This would be helpful because I was talking to some staff at Harvey's, and they where saying they overheard that there may be a new location in Dieppe (There was apparently to be one in Riverview but those plans fell threw if they ever existed that is).

The Dieppe Co-Op will switch to the "Coop IGA" name on November 19. The manager states that he eventually wants the store to switch to IGA Extra, which requires a minimum of 40,000 sq ft (the existing building is 31,500 sq ft). Sobeys is evaluating whether it would be more profitable to expand the current store or to build elsewhere, with one possibility being the previously-proposed location on Yvonne.

According to T&T Red Satay Grill on Dieppe Blvd will hopefully be open by this December No final date has been given other then they hope to be open by the years end.

As for the Coop in Dieppe it sounds a little strange But I guess they have to Juggle the pros, and cons of Expansion Vs. New constructions, and also the possibilities of either, or..

Sears may not be going out of business anytime soon but it seems there selling off what they consider to be "non-core" real estate for the past 2 years at least possibly to keep there heads above water. I'm wondering what it will mean for stores despite all the properties claimed to have been sold being storage, distribution centers, and empty lots. I had talked to my ex Mother in law who was running a Sears pick-up location, and I was told by her sears sold off there share in the building, and closed up Shop. Since there nearest location is now 1 hour to an hour, and a half I wonder if they would close sears stores/pick-up locations since there are other locations within an hour or so.

Interesting. I always wonder how long they will last for. Sad, But I think they need to focus more on the catalogue orders/ pick ups than instore sales. a lot of their prices in the stores are very expensive compared to the catalogue

I heard Superstore was looking to expand into Dieppe as well. The rumour I've been hearing (I work at a Moncton Superstore) is that they want to build off the TCH & Elmwood, and build another store in Dieppe and downsize or relocate the main street store. It is an old building (built in 1986) and has other stores attached to it, so they'd rather have a stand alone store. This could still be years away, however.

The one for TCH & Elmwood was out when Sobeys talked about there new store opening on Elmwood, and for Dieppe. Superstore, and Sobeys both made a bid for the land at the corner of Dieppe Blvd, and Yvonne from what I heard... But Sobeys lucked out. Not sure if there is any land left for what there previous attempt was supposed to be but could see a smaller format store in Dieppe.
