^ It's basically the residential equivalent of a suburban strip mall. At least it's still somewhat kind-of urban in that it's not the more typical pitched roof and stucco set in a sea of parking that you typically see around there.

Was that not a repurposed hotel? Or was the hotel torn down?

Manitoba Clinic is underway. There is a crawler crane on site and they have started work on the parkade expansion (more floors).

Good news. This will be an appropriate building to mark the SE corner of the HSC campus... even if it isn't a showstopper, at least it's something substantial.

Good news in the last 24/hrs., activity at both the MB clinic site and TN Square, test drilling in the latter case but moving forward never the less.

I don't mind MOCO at all, but I do wish they would've put the parking in the back, kinda strange even from a security standpoint that they didn't. I think it's a good fit.. the finishes keep costs down but it's a nice pop of colour from the balconies, no complaints on this one for me really.

The MB Clinic has been underway for a while actually even beyond the demolition of the old gas station, I just have forgotten to post.

At the corner of Dufferin and Salter sits a boarded up former church, IIRC it was a Korean United church. Presently another building is being is being built on top of the old church with a huge staircase to the ground. No work appears to be going on with the building on the bottom.

Was the Manitoba Korean Presbyterian Church until recently... now it's becoming a Buddhist Temple. It's quite a sight coming off the Slaw Rebchuk Bridge...

Kind of an odd location? Must have got the old building for a song. It was vacant for a long time.

Luxury condos? It looks like social housing. Those funky-coloured balconies could never disguise this dog's breakfast.

Not that long, but it was longer than I thought, though... I looked at Google Street View and in 2009 the church was still located there, but by 2012 the sign was down. So vacant for at least a few years until construction got under way earlier this year.
