Place des Peuples in front of the Canadian Museum of Civilization (or the recent, Harparized name Canadian Museum of History) in Hull, Québec. Same architect as the museum, Douglas Cardinal. NEUF contributed to the towers.
New kitch design with podium adopting the exact same design as the museum. Typical for one trick pony Cardinal. Don't get me wrong, the museum is an architectural masterpiece, top 10 buildings in the Ottawa region, but don't build an identical structure across the street 30 years later.
Quebec's Parliement building will undergo a $60M expansion shortly. As underscored by the rendering, the expansion will be mostly underground and will have almost no impact on the appearance of the building. Most of the new space will serve to accomodate the 120 000 tourists who visit the Parliement each year and to enhance the overall security. Two additional conference rooms will also be built to accomodate the parliamentarians.
