saw this a few weeks ago when i was down. Did they just forget to put in a railing around the pond? or did they think it was a good idea to have something that could so easily be stepped or fallen into on the sidewalk?

the things they have around it look bad and cheapen the whole effect

I'm presuming those barriers are temporary until they get something permanent figured out.

Of course it seems a tad optimistic considering they still don't have glass on the top three floors yet. Maybe it should be "early 2017… ".

Because of the height, I actually like it despite its seafoamy blandness.

Pic by me today - lots of balcony glass installed on the west side - unfortunately, it's clear glass (but is there a fritted stripe along the bottom edge?) pretty quick installation it seems:

The more I see that curved part the more I dislike it. Of course if that weird curved part wasn't there the view of the mountains would disapear. So I guess it all makes sense lmao

Yeah there is a fritter strip along the bottom of the balcony glass. That helps.

Ahh, but the question is, the view of the mountains would disappear from who? You? Me? I bet most people don't even know.

Does that still make sense to you?

They're finally getting some glass up on the upper floors with the higher ceilings.

Here's today's view from Georgia Street and a closer look at the balcony glass on the Robson and alley sides of the condo tower.

Thank you for the update, mcminsen.

It looks like they missed a tree (i.e., the one closest to Seymour)

Looks like the addition to Telus House (the older building) is being clad in uniform dark gray panelling (i.e. big blank walls).

Pics by me today:

Look just behind the public washroom - it looks like one of the retail doorways opens smack into an elevator core or stairwell core.
So not only is it poorly placed as it fronts the public washroom on the outside, but on the inside it lines up with a cinderblock wall.
... another example of poor planning.
Also, I thought there's a requirement that doorways be inset so that doors don't encroach onto sidewalks when they swing outwards -
these don't look to be automatic sliding doors (or maybe single sliding doors?) - so how did they get around that one?
(or maybe an inset steel structure will be built within the existing doorway frames and the actual doors set back?)
