Toothpick Trophy Tower - At the risk of staring a rumor. A number of years ago there was some talk about someone putting
a tall toothpick tower on this site. Haven't heard anything for years. Maybe some apodment developer bought it and has plans?

4/C - 701 4th Ave
This is from the design packet (http://web6.seattle.gov/dpd/edms/Get...Docs&id=469382) showing options that they've considered.
But they are stuck on the box shape for now it seems. Hopefully someone can talk them into bowing it some.

Love that list mSeattle. A mod should add that to the front page as its current ( #4182 ).

So many 400 and 440 footers rising and planned. Seattle's lucky numbers, next to 420!

Nobody builds 400'. Anything at that height is residential, which gets an extra 10%, so they're all 440' or close to it.

Yay!

'Intractable eyesore' by Pike Place Market will become a hotel
Nov 18, 2015, 2:29pm PST

Marc Stiles Staff Writer Puget Sound Business Journal
http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/b...rket-will.html

A mostly vacant, old building at a key corner in downtown Seattle finally has some new owners, and they plan to turn it into a hotel with a street-level bar and restaurant.

Officials of Seattle-based real estate development company Lake Union Partners on Wednesday said they bought the Eitel Building at Second Avenue and Pike Street for $5.35 million. Another Seattle company, Columbia Hospitality, will operate the independent hotel. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start next spring or summer and be done in early 2018.

That's going to be worth 10x its dollar value in terms of improving that neighborhood. Though I liked the old teriyaki place.

Never ate there or entered any of the other businesses. It has definitely been a blast from Seattle's gritty past.
Good historic and character building. Glad it will be rehabbed.
