I'm obviously confused, but hopefully someone can shed some light.

I don't buy they'd build a Whole Foods there and an Apple Store, but I could be wrong. The Whole Foods specifically because of the location of Harry's (owned by Whole Foods) and the other in Sandy Springs. Seems a bit too close for Whole Foods IMO.
Harry's is closing in 2017 with the opening of the new Whole Foods at the intersection of Barrett and Cobb Parkways, also compliments of Fuqua.

Work is continuing on Tech Square Labs in the old Office Depot building at Spring and Abercrombie. Looks like the exterior is pretty much finished.

There is construction netting, for lack of a better description, on the fences for AMLI Arts Center today, and there's more activity on the site.

Also, Strip at Atlantic Station is being cleared out en masse, and there are policemen on each corner saying that photos aren't allowed. Not sure what's so secret about them moving things out of the space, especially since the exterior of a building has no right to privacy

Don't think there have been any in recent memory, aside from the crane at One57 that broke during the hurricane. However, there have been quite a few incidents of things being dropped by cranes - particularly HVAC units - similar to what happened a few years ago at the Mansion on Peachtree.

That's weird. Although Atlantic Station is private property, so they can ban photography.

A crane collapsed right here in Atlanta just last month. But it is really rare considering how many cranes there are all around the country at any one time.

I'm not sure they can, but it'll be fun to see them try.

I'm not 100% sure of how the legality works, but according to their website:
F. Private Property
All the common areas of Atlantic Station including the streets, sidewalks, parks, and alleys are private property. Distributing materials, conducting interviews, soliciting, demonstrating, taking photos, or making video or audio tapes on, or of, the property, or store fronts is not permitted on any portion of the property. Exceptions may be granted by Management for Atlantic Station sponsored/approved activities. Individuals are required to present proper identification when requested by Atlantic Station personnel.

Walked by Yoo, looks like they are done with the parking portion of the building, so it should start to rise at a faster rate.

Also, Novare has been pretty quiet recently, any idea on where their next project is going to pop up?

Their lack of enforcement over the last 10 years may undermine that supposed right. They retweet people's photos of the property all the time

Yoo has certainly been the slowest of the current buildings. They have made little noticeable progress over the past few months.

742 Memorial

http://atlanta.curbed.com/archives/2015/11/16/memorial-drives-latest-proposal-27-condos-shops.php

Quote:
The latest plans in a flurry of development activity along Memorial Drive are calling for a rare post-recession condominium project, plus a smattering of retail. On a site where a similar mixed-use development failed a decade ago, leaving only its graffiti-laden foundation like bones, a proposal called "742 Memorial" is being billed as the next big thing in Reynoldstown and "Atlanta's most exciting corridor." A promotional website promises 27 modern condos and about 6,000 square feet of street retail, just west of the Atlanta Dairies project and future extension of the Beltline's Eastside Trail. According to LoopNet, the property has more than 200 feet of Memorial Drive frontage. The city's planning department approved the project (pending very specific design alterations) earlier this year, but there's no word yet on a timeline or price range for these for-sale units. Have a gander at how the site currently looks — and what the future may hold — after the jump.

Interesting boutique project. They're condos too...just not sure if the condo market in that part of Atlanta is very strong at the moment.

Not to mention the millions in free media advertising and shoppers 365 days of the year.

Question: Isn't it widely known in the architectural world there are retailers you should not use their logos artistically without their written permission. Two being: Apple and Whole foods. The Related Group/Philips Partnership didn't put Whole Food's logo on their renderings even though they clearly were signing onto the the 14St project.

I"m not saying it's wise to post it on their website in a public way.

Yeah, Sky... I mean Atlantic House has been going at breakneck speed. They are already on floor 20, only 12 floors to go.

Maybe they will propose a copy of Atlantic House for the Buckhead submarket.

Novare might be done with Atlanta for the moment in all honesty. Atlantic House seems to be their height of development. Since building 4 or so skyhouses in Atlanta, apartment construction in the Midtown and Buckhead sub-markets has gone up tremendously and plenty of new real estate investment groups have begun to enter the market after seeing how fast rents have risen.

Seems like Skyhouse Centennial Park or Downtown makes sense.

I would think Skyhouse Perimeter or Skyhouse Suntrust Park are more likely.

Considering the lack of residential towers there I'm not sure it's really more likely. A tower would be more of a sure thing in Downtown/Midtown/Buckhead. It would certainly be a pioneering development at the ballpark.

Prior to the last Recession, Novare had bought land in the Perimeter and plane two 30 story condo tower.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't that the same land where State Farm is building their new headquarters today?
